Anson Call Home

I grew up in a Historical Site - a house built in 1861. Matthew wants to buy and restore it, but the damage from the fire was pretty bad. I'd love to see it restored.

All the tags are altered. The two on the right were clothing tags. I've added metal, patterned paper, ink, and fiber to dress them up. The car was cut from the bottom of the background paper. I find that when paper has a border design, it almost never ends up in a place to fit my design, so I make it work.
The 'life is beautiful' is part of the clothing tag, which reads "Life is beautiful, dress accordingly." I cut what I needed and chucked the rest.

Birth Place

Angie was born in this house. She is pointing to the room where she was born in the picture that shows the back of the house. The journaling is tucked behind the vellum paper that has been in my stash for about fifteen years.

I'd love to see this old gem of a house restored.

The base of this tag was given to me by Angie - it came from some clothing she bought - brandname: Authentic American Heritage. I love to put found items in my scrapbook. Of course I altered it with sandpaper and patterned paper. The old cameo was given to me when I was in third grade.
This is a close up of the vellum paper by Hot off the Press. I thought it was perfect for this page as the house was built in 1861.

Anchors Away

This is my granddaughter at an amusement park riding in her favorite color of boat. I also rode in these boats when I was a little girl. This is where I used up the purple paper from the Snow Queen layout.

The flowers were cut from three different pieces of patterned paper.

The little glittered dots are flower centers from a roll of glittered border tape. They are the parts that I was throwing away.

It feels good to have more product moving out of my stash and onto my pages instead of just adding to my stash.

Kindergarten

This is my granddaughter's kindergarten picture. She is a bright and sparkly girl.

I was able to use up scraps on this page, so there is product from several companies. I like the little owls because this girl is as smart as a whip.

I blurred the journaling because there is identifying information in it. I didn't have the right color letter stickers for this layout, so I sanded some letter stickers to remove the shiny finish and used the ink that I put on the edges of the page to make them match. I could have used my Cricut, but I am trying to use up my stash.

The 'abc 123' is a Martha Stewart border punch.

Since creating paper packs, my scrapping time is much better spent creating layouts instead of trying to choose paper.

Noel

I love these pictures of Callie and Isaac.

The bells are from a Christmas card we received a few years ago.  The border punch is by Martha Stewart. I used paper from several lines, but I can never remember who made what paper. The rhinestones and metal pieces fell off the back pockets of some jeans I have. Every thing flat enough has the potential to make it onto a scrap page.

The title was an ornament. I took off the hanger and coated it with glue and silver micro glitter.

Peace is metal also coated with glitter.

Eggs? No, Cars

This is my son, Brandon, and grandson, Jace. Brandon is Jace's uncle, and they both love everything about cars. They are looking through a car magazine together on Easter because cars are way more important than eggs. I think it is a sickness they are born with.

Jace loves Disney's Cars, so I had to add a car from that.

Snow Queen

I received this hat at a white elephant gift exchange at work. The braid on it matched my granddaughter's hair perfectly, and what little girl wouldn't want an Elsa hat?

This background paper is from a Christmas line that I purchased several years ago. I can't remember who made it, but I love it so much that I didn't want to cover it up. Santa and his sleigh are behind her pictures.
Yes, I cut a full sheet of paper to make this thin lavender border, but I will use the rest of it on another page soon.
I used two strips of vellum - one is border punched with a Martha Stewart border punch. I love them.
That little white snowflake circle was pulled off a gift tag. I love the texture of this paper with its swirls and glitter.

Grade 6

Matt started at a new school in 2014, and he had the best teacher.

I used product from eight different companies. The bus is from a side strip of very old 8 1/2 by 11 paper. The black dots are brads, but I broke the backs off them and glued them down.

Flexible

This is my little granddaughter, Kayana. She's been taking gymnastics for a few years. They work hard at her gym and have learned to eliminate the word "can't" from their vocabulary. Instead, she says, "I'll try."

The stars were cut from patterned paper. The big star in the back is a Great Harvest bread tag. Anything that enters this house can end up in a scrapbook if it is flat enough.

Matt Christmas 2014

I used vellum on this layout - a full sheet to tone down the very busy and bright background paper. The Christmas tree is a card we received from my aunt. I also broke out my wire stash on this. I am working hard to bash my stash.

Out of Control Scrap #2

As promised, here are the cards I made using scraps.

I am better about using my stamps on my cards than I am on my layouts. I'm not sure why this is, and I need to change my ways and break out the stamps on my layouts more often.

The large yellow flowers were cut from patterned paper. The small flowers are a stamp. The border punch is by Martha Stewart.

The butterflies were cut from patterned paper, and the greeting is a stamp.

Out of Control Scraps #1

I've joined a blog challenge to put up at least 21 scrappy posts this month. Here is the link if you're interested in following other scrapbookers: 2 Peas Refugees Blog Challenge

My scraps are out of control. I try to use them as much as possible, but sometimes I have to take a break from scrapping and make greeting and recipe cards to use them up. My rule is that with the exception of the paper used to print the recipe card or the base of the greeting card, all paper must come from my scrap bins. I have two large accordion files, and my scraps are sorted by color.

I made seventeen recipe cards and 2 greeting cards. I'll share the greeting cards tomorrow. Here are the recipe cards. I only shared one picture of each recipe, but I made some doubles, which is why only eleven are pictured.

I still have way too many scraps, but at least some of them have been used.

Jace, the Birthday Boy

I've joined a blog challenge to put up at least 21 scrappy posts this month. Here is the link if you're interested in following other scrapbookers: 2 Peas Refugees Blog Challenge

I used this sketch by Dana Kesler for this layout. I don't enjoy creating two page layouts and almost always use a sketch to help me figure it out.

I have some really old product on here. I am back on a spending freeze because I have too much scrap stuff. I am allowing myself adhesive, blades, and an occasional letter sticker pack after each 100 sheets of paper I use.

Ballet

I seem to be a more productive scrapper when I've put myself on a spending freeze. I created some paper packs, put them into large Ziplock bags, so now I grab a set of pictures, see which paper pack has matching colors, and begin creating. This saves so much time. Picking paper for each set of pictures takes me forever. Having paper packs with coordinating papers all together is awesome; I wish I'd done this years ago.

This is my oldest grand daughter at her dance recital. I was able to use up some scraps on this one.

The butterfly is an old rub on. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the border and small flowers.
