Throwback Thursday

I have some old layouts to share today. Each has either a handmade embellishment or one created from found objects.

This is my paternal grandfather. I think he is so handsome.

 I still love the tag I made for this layout.It shows all the relationships that were along with the sign from his car lot.

 This layout is about my beloved paternal grandmother. I admire her in so many ways.

 I made the mini comp book and hand stitched the details on it.

 After her death, my aunt Patty came across an account Grandma had written when she retired that also detailed her first year of teaching in a one room schoolhouse.

 This is me. I wish I was still this young.

 The flowers are hand made and the tag is from an article of clothing with the logo sanded off.

Caitie's Junior Prom

This is Caite with her high school sweetheart and future husband, Nathan.

I used all old product on this with the exception of the little bits of Riverton paper I had left over from her graduation pictures.

  And this - first picture is of the front, second picture is of the back. I'm not sure what it is, but I rescued it from my get rid of pile and made into. . .

This awesome embellishment. 

Crooked Smile and Nineteen

My first layout is a combination of old and new product. The second layout is all old product - all patterned paper except for the letter stickers.

First up is Drew and Matthew with the same crooked smile.

 These pictures are from Caitie's nineteenth birthday. I only used paper on this one.

Angie's baby shower and Isaac's birth

I have one for the old/new challenge and one with just new.

 This was such a fun day with everyone there. I love the two large pictures on the first page.

 I found a bag of buttons at the DI for $1. They are small and perfect for scrap pages, and I had fun sorting them. For some reason buttons make me happy.

Caitie's Graduation and some other older pictures

I've been working on older pictures using new product.

I finally scrapbooked Caitie's graduation pictures. Her graduation got a little over looked considering she got married a few days after graduation. We were too focused on the wedding.

Other than the sticker letters that are old, everything else on this layout is new.

 I found the rhinestones at Joann's in the clearance section. I used part of one package for the two layouts.

This is Caitie and Nathan (her fiance). She was way to young to get married, but she was determined. Nathan has been a great match for her, so it all worked out.

 The Fiskars Zingz that I used to make the flowers are from 2007.

 I used up some old fibers to make the tassel on this page.

 Caitie is such a fun girl. She loves to jump on the trampoline. The paper on all three of the graduation layouts is from Scrapbook Customs.

 This is one for the old/new challenge on a scrapping website I belong to. This is Angie and her family when she only had one child. I need to get caught up.

 Yes, that is a very old piece of Hot of the Press Vellum.

 This is Aliese and Kalena. Aliese is now ten years old.

 And last of all - a card from scraps.

I Can Do Big Things

This is Matthew when he was nearly two. He wanted to do whatever Caitie did.

I used a combination of old and new product on this layout.

100 Frozen Layouts - Check

I  made it. It took me exactly seven months, but I have not shopped - even at yard sales for scrapbook products. I have made a dent in my stash, although I still have too much paper.

I used 337 sheets of paper on this challenge, so the fact that still I have too much paper shows that need to limit my future paper purchases.

I also created a lot of cards and recipe cards that did not count toward my layout count. Two page layouts counted as one layout as well.

Now to show the last five layouts of my frozen challenge:

#96 This is Matt as age 3 1/2. He would fall asleep like this often. I loved this paper when I bought it years ago. The title of this layout and the next three are all the same - Heidi Grace flocked stickers - I just chalked them to match the color of the layout on the next two.

 The enamel dots are melted beads.

 #97 - The next four layouts have pictures of my son who is now 34 years old. He is an airman stationed in Qatar at the moment. I miss him and he is constantly on my mind. He took control of this afgan as a baby and still has it.

 The wood accents are part of the birthday gift from Elaine.

 This one has a rub on from Stampin' Up.

 #98 My first layout with hexagons. They are kind of fun.

 The embellishments are from my birthday gift from Elaine.

 #99 This was James's first Christmas.
